Bamboo Sushi in Portland, Oregon, agrees, which is why they’ve taken a radical approach to remaining sustainable: For every ounce of tuna they sell, they plan to contribute two ounces back to the sea by buying and maintaining protected fish habitats. Is this the most sustainable sushi restaurant in America?
He can’t build more oceans, but he can protect more of what we have, and in the process boost fish populations. Oceans make up over 70 percent of our planet, yet only 1 percent of them are Marine Protected Areas, Lofgren says. “We are going to take a portion of every dollar spent at Bamboo Sushi, and work with the Nature Conservancy, WWF, Monterey Bay Aquarium… [and others] to buy those areas of ocean, turning them into ‘fish banks’ for research.” And eventually breeding.

Paper Drop Point: As I pulled up, a newspaper truck was pulling away (using the papers are dropped around 2:30.) I checked my stacks & realized I only had 2 out of my 3 sections.
The last load of papers showed up around 5 AM.
THEN I had to fold the 1st half od my route,

Start time: 5:45
Obversations: I hated running late, but there wasn’t much I could do about the presses being down. Also, I was jonseing for a Diet Coke so bad…apparently I need some caffiene to fold very fast; felt like it took ForEver to fold. I was pretty cranky by the time I got done.
Finish time: 7:15
Wednesday, June 28th Leave house: 3:58 AM Temp. 78F Winds: breezy Paper folding- ran out of small sacks, had to get another batch from my patient, if sleepy, DM. Start time: 4:45 Observations: damn porches; only hit probably 5 in 10 today. Finish time: 6:10AM Getting closer to the recommended 6AM delivery time!
